Hinami Sakurai (Japanese: 櫻井 雛実 Sakurai Hinami) is the third-year libero of the Aobajōsai girl's volleyball club. She is of English and Japanese descent.

- She's incredibly flexible. Like, splits and everything. She did gymnastics outside of volleyball practices since she was very young to reduce risks of developing health issues - a recommendation from her worried nurse mother.

- Although she shares her surname and position with Tokonami High's libero Sakurai, she has no relation to him.
- When she was young she used to watch her mother's recorded plays all the time, and she took up volleyball to step into her mother's shoes who was a professional volleyball player respresenting England when she was younger but had suffered an injury that permanently ruined her career; Erika took up sports medicine, which directed her to Japan and eventually met her future husband. Hinami also started up gymnastics to make her more suitable for sport.

- Once (before they started dating) when Hinami was feeling generous she bought him milk bread to shut him up. It backfired miserably and he now bugs her about buying more.
- They are usually on and off on their relationship, and during their last break Oikawa started dating another girl who dumped him eventually because of his obsession with volleyball. Oikawa and Hinami got back together after this and have been with each other ever since.
- They are on first name basis, especially during serious times. Hinami refers to him by his surname when she's annoyed at him for one reason or another, and trust me, that happens a lot.
