The Jounin was dragging the dummy along the ground as he lead the two genin out into the middle of the forest at the starting area, "Alright this is your next exam as I'm sure you have figured out. You have two basic objectives, get yourselves home and..." he slams the dummy down. "...get your 'injured' teammate here stabilized and home."

Kuon and Nijika just kinda stared at him as he gave them a nod and backed away, "Your test begins now." he declared as he vanished in smoke.

Kuon and Nijika both ran towards the dummy, written on it were various wounds and injuries. Across the forehead 'deep cut' was written, down on the chest 'broken rib' and 'various open wounds', on the left leg it said 'shattered knee', and finally on the right leg 'torn MCL and ACL'. The two genin nodded and got to work, Nijika having more medic experience thanks to her sensei Masaru. She began to check the dummy to see if it was breathing, lucky it wasn't labeled as not breathing so once she checked she gave a nod to Kuon. His area was covering and cleaning the wounds, having spend a lot of time doing this to his own missing eye to prevent infection.

After cleaning up his hands Kuon took out his bag of medical supplies and placed sterile bandage over the stops that were labeled as cuts, apply pressure where he needed. He began to clean out the wounds with water and then using some special soap to clean around the wound.

Nijika had been working on making splints to keep their 'injured' teammate's legs together and to stop them from moving to prevent further injuries, using what supplies she had she managed to wrap the dummy's legs and keep them in place.

The two looked at each other, once the pair finished wrapping the cuts with bandages the two go to their feet knowing that this was all they could with their skill to keep the dummy stable. "Alright looks like we will need to carry the dummy out of here." Kuon stated as he walked towards it.

"Hold on, I can use my special cotton candy jutsu, it will wrap up the dummy, I can focus on carrying it." Nijika aid as she formed her hand seals. Slowly the cotton candy expanded and began to gently wrap around the dummy holding it in place and slowly began to hover in the air.

Kuon gave thumbs up. "We will need to move slow so we don't further injury our 'teammate'."

"Agreed but we can't just walk we do need to cover quite a bit of ground." Nijika added as the pair began to walk through the forest now moving along the ground so she could focus on her Dummy wrapped Cotton Candy ball.

---

A few hours had passed since the duo began to move through the forest, they couldn't move to fast without risking their 'teammate' so they moved as fast as they could but progress was slow. The sun was on the horizon as the lighting in the forest was that deep orange, Kuon suddenly stopped as he saw a thin wire across the ground. He know what it was as he turned to Nijika. "Niji, don't move!"

She stopped and looked over at her partner and then noticed the trip wire, "Booby traps..." she mumbled looking out she could see glimpses of metal, wire, and ropes set to hinder or wound them. "I don't see a way around them."

"We may have to go through it then." Kuon mumbled.

"I would use my whirlwind technique, it would stop any objects if I surround us with it."

"Quickest thing we can do." he nodded.

"Alright I can't keep the dummy floating and maintain another jutsu like that." Nijika released her wind jutsu that was keeping the dummy afloat.

Kuon lifted the dummy up over his shoulders as Nijika focus everything on keeping the whirlwind around the two of them. The two of them took off through the booby trapped area triggering trip wires that launched kunais, branches, and even a few rocks but the whirlwind stopped them. The kunais got caught up and were launched out into the trees, the branches snapped under the stress, and the rocks were thrown out by the strong winds.

A snare wrapped around Kuon's ankles as he was pulled up into the trees, Nijika noticed this and waited for him to just about reach the top before she quickly turned and threw a kunai at the top cutting the rope. He then used the branch as a push off so he could flip and land on his feet as the pair kept their mad dash up across the booby trapped forest. With some luck and skill the duo made it to the end of the booby traps causing both of them to fall to the ground on their knees out of their breath and tired from the long run. With neither of these ninja's having a high stamina this dash could have been their down fall but today it wasn't.

Night was soon upon them as the two rechecked the dummy to make sure the 'treatments' they had done were still holding, even changing the bandages just to show they were treating this like a real situation. Nijika was the first to break the silence of the night after they finished the reapplication of the bandages, "Kuon we are both exhausted, I think we need to rest a few hours at least so we can keep going."

"You did the most work today Nijika, get some sleep I will take the first watch." he said with a soft smile.

Nijika nodded and smiled, "Let me add one thing, Masaru would not be happy if I forgot this." she said before using her pack to help elevate the legs of the dummy.

Kuon took noticed and choose to add a little, he took of his overcoat and placed it like a blanket over the dummy and removed his scarf folding it up as a pillow for the dummy, "For the exam I think we can both give up a little for our 'injured teammate'." he spoke doing air quotes.

"True. Okay, wake me up for next watch, don't you dare take all that responsibility on yourself Kuon. We're partners for this." She looked at him sternly before lying down and rolling over to sleep, using her arm as a pillow.

Kuon huffed and crossed his arms, leaning back against a tree. They were in an area tightly packed by trees, which offered them a lot of coverage but also put them at a disadvantage as it would be more difficult to detect enemies. They have decided against having a fire as it would make them more detectable, which meant they would have to suffer the night in the cold, although Nijika has took off her yellow kimono top and used that as a make-shift blanket; Kuon has sacrificed his means of warmth to keep the legs of their 'injured teammate' elavated after Nijika previously mentioned that doing so would keep the blood circulation going around the body.

During the night, Kuon was incredibly tuned in to the noises around them, he wasn't risking missing signs of a potential ambush. Although resting has replenished his stamina a bit after that mad dash through the booby traps earlier, he used it to climb various trees that kept his partner and 'teammate' in his limited view while also giving him a view of various angles.

As he woke Nijika for her shift, he gave her this tip and she agreed it was very useful. Noticing his arms were covered in goosebumps and he was shivering ever so slightly, she gave him her kimono top.

"It's not much especially for your size, but it's definitely better than nothing. You did a good job, now rest up. We still got a lot ahead of us."

And so they switched positions, Kuon settling beside the dummy and Nijika taking his spot up in the trees. Numerous times, she heard twigs snapping, which made her draw her kunai on instinct, but it always turned out to be a small animal. Nijika also made sure to check on her teammate(s) to ensure that Kuon was covered as much as possible with her kimono top and that the bandages were still good on the dummy. After make sure everything was as good as it can be, she returned to her perch on a high tree branch.

The sky was taking on a purple and yellow tone, indicating that sunset was already happening, when Kuon stirred from his slumber. Nijika noted that dark clouds seemed to be coming their way as she descended from her perch and landed on the ground as they greeted each other.

"We shouldn't be that far from the village, considering the distance we were led into the woods and how much we did yesterday. If we leave now and continue the same pace we may reach the village by early afternoon." Kuon hummed to himself and took back his overcoat and scarf after handing Nijika's kimono back to her, immediately letting out a sigh of relief as his arms were covered again.

"Considering that we encountered a booby trap earlier I believe there is a high chance that we will find trouble again on the way there. They are testing us for lots of things with this exam." Nijika shared her thoughts as she rechecked the dummy for the nth time today before getting out a fresh stash of cotton candy from her pack and utilising the same technique again to make transportation easier.

"This is my last stash of cotton candy, it needs to be fresh to work. I saw some dark clouds heading this way too so there is a risk of rain too, which isn't a good thing for this technique anyway. If this fails on me we'll have to carry the dummy manually which will hinder us in case of an attack." The wind that was keeping the candy and the dummy nestles safely inside it elavated gently stirred the dirt underneath it as it lifted.

"Right. We have to be cautious as we proceed, our objective is to get the dummy back safely."

After making sure that the dummy was in a good position in the candy so that it didn't aggravate it's 'broken rib', they set off again at fairly fast pace to get as close to the village gates as possible for when the raining would occur, although it seemed that the clouds were approaching much faster than expected.

The majority of the treck was filled with the sound of their footsteps, and hours of light conversation as both partners were looking around for threats but the silence descended upon them more than once. As the trees thinned the further they walked, it gave them the indication that they were getting closer to the village. The rumbling of thunder was the only warning they got before the rain started, heavy and cold.

Immediately, they both grabbed the dummy as the cotton started dissolving into the sugars it was made out of. Kuon took charge and grabbed the dummy gently, lifting it into his arms bridal style so that his hand was holding the knee that wasn't 'shattered' as Nijika helped adjust his position. They had to hurry, the temperatures have dropped with the rain and it wouldn't do them any good to catch hypothermia. They made a dash for the tree lines that gave them better coverage, although it wasn't much.

With their very low stamina, and pretty low on chakra in Nijika's case, they have to make sure that they get to a safer place very fast, and it wasn't helping that Kuon had an extra weight to carry. But they had to hurry regardless. Just as the village gates appeared a couple of miles ahead, a barrage of kunai intercepted them. As Kuon was occupied, Nijika quickly used her own kunai to deflect any that came too close for comfort.

The owner of the weapons showed themselves as they jumped down from their hiding place, quickly falling into a fighting stance. Kuon's eye narrowed as he observed the situation. His arms were heavy with the weight of the dummy, they were both exhausted, and Nijika's chakra was significantly lowered after using her cotton candy and ninjutsu to get them this far for hours on end. In any case, Kuon deemed Nijika unfit for this battle in her current shape, and decided that he was the better choice to get into combat. Everything around them was wet with the rain and he could at least do some damage with his lightning element.

He cautiously shuffled closer to his partner and leaned down in order to whisper to her. "Nijika, take the dummy and go. The walls seem to be around four miles ahead, you can get there fast. I'll hold them up." He can see her tense up at the suggestion and he clearly sees that she is reluctant to leave him. Before she could retort back, he bit in: "Remember the mission. Our objective is to get the dummy back. I'll catch up, I'm faster than you are and we'll make it back together."

Nijika was certainly reluctant to leave him behind. Of course, she knew what the objective was, and that you had to finish the mission regardless of the sacrifices you have to make. But she also knew that leaving Kuon behind could end up badly if he was exhausted and if he underestimates his enemies.

Shaking her head, she turned and took the dummy carefully from him and stepped back. "I trust you. You better catch up, you yourself said you were faster than me."

And then she took off towards the village as she made a detour to avoid the enemies. Kuon quickly shook off the heavy feeling in his arms and went in for a taijutsu battle. Sure, his stamina wasn't the best at all right now, but his taijutsu skills are very good, and he can definitely land a punch. The battle has forced them to keep moving continuously and as Kuon jumped back to avoid a slash, he noticed that his opponents were standing in a big dent in the muddy earth, filled with water. It was time to go with his plan.

He had to be fast, otherwise they will notice his intentions and avoid it. He took a deep breath, and dashed towards them, while his hands flashed through a flurry of seals, instigating sparks of lightning to lick around his fist, which he thrust into one of his opponent's stomach, causing the current to fly through them into the water, and effectively electrifying everyone in the water.

He did it.

But the mission wasn't over until he made it back to the village with his partner and the dummy.

Nijika's strength was definitely nothing compared to a man's. After a couple of minutes of running, she slowed to a walk, her stamina not allowing anything further. The rain was still beating heavily on her and that didn't do anything to help her issue. She was half expecting something to happen since she was so close to the village gates already, but all she heard was the chirping of lightning in the distance. Then footsteps coming closer, heavy on the ground. And then the weight in her arms was gone and her partner was holding the dummy again, smirking at her cheekily.

"Told you I'll catch up."
Exam #2: This will be a COLLAB submission. You and your partner must create ONE entry (drawing or written) together to outline your journey to save your comrade. Did they make it in time? Or did the village suffer a loss? You and your partner can decide which sort of obstacles your characters will face for this exam.

I was paired with george3222, the top half is written by him and the bottom half is by me. I wrote our usernames at the beginning of each section to make it easier to see who wrote what. Thank you for cooperating with me!
